Here is a new trick i made that is fun adn easy, it just takes some practice and the sacrifice of your board. Be safe, ride hard, and have fun.
Monthly Archive for January, 2009
Hey Guys ,
The event is coming together very nicely. Through the help of our sponsors we have a big ol pot of prizes to give away. The downhill is shaping up well as we now have the Downhill Dragon Clan coming from Tucson and the Choco Sundae team coming as well. The Event will be next sunday , January 25 at South Mountain Park, Arizona. Heres the flyer with the info . Come join and have a great time
Finally here you go.
First I have to emphasize the two main rules;
THERE ARE NO SPECTATORS FOR THIS EVENT
The only people allowed on the property will be riders and course workers. If your name is not on the list you will not be allowed on the property. This is not public land and the deal with the Museum and my insurance does not allow spectators.
THERE IS NO DRINKING OR SMOKING ANYWHERE ON THE PROPERTY
The property is a fire trap and many fires have occurred due to smoking. This is also a family affair with lots of young guns and their parents in attendance. Be respectful.
The volunteer list is not yet complete, so far all the volunteers are not skaters and priority will go to non skaters (ie friends, family and parents). This just makes my life easier and allows for the riders to maximize the number of runs in a day.
I have sorted through over 500 e-mails in the last 10 days and there are many that I wanted to respond to and allow in but many e-mails got lost in the mess. That is my own fault.
One of the complaint s I heard from FOS was not everyone had paypal so I tried to accommodate those who could not pay that way. If you have not paid your payment will need to have been received by me by February 29. If I do not receive payment at that time your spot will be given to someone else. Skaters are known for being flakes and I expect spots to open up.
If you are on the list, have yet to pay and do not pay me by the deadline, you will rewarded with moving to the top of the list to be cut from the next event (there will be more).
I am sorry for those who did not make it in, for those who paid I will refund your money by 10pm tonight (that is west coast time). For those of you who did not pay but notified me again I am sorry.

This will be a weekend of riding the most famous longboarding hill in the world. This event is open to the first 90 or so riders who sign up and pay the $105 (via PayPal). If you cannot do PayPal please contact me at senor_palmer@hotmail.com for other payment arrangements.
Follow this link to the paypal site. http://www.longboardlarry.com/maryhillfreeride.php
Timeship Racing has stepped up to work with various manufactures to arrange some demo boards to sample throughout the day. This equipment will then be auctioned off with the proceeds going to the City of Goldendale to help with the creation of a concrete skate park. More details on this are to come. If you are a manufacturer and you wish to donate equipment for this event please contact me at the above e-mail address. There are rumors that Timeship is bringing the Bungee….
This is not a race and there are no prizes, spectators or camping. Just a closed hill with hay bales, EMT’s safety workers and shuttles. The first shuttle starts at 9am and goes to 5pm. There will be 6 man heats spaced about a minute apart. We will try and get as many runs as possible each day.
Leathers and a full face helmet are required. If you are found to be riding ANYWHERE on the property without a helmet you may be asked to leave.
There is no smoking of anything on the property.
There will be no alcohol consumption by participants in the event.
The event organizers and the workers are GOD. Their word is law. Give them grief and you may find yourself escorted off the property without a refund.
That goes for all the rules, you break ‘em and you may find yourself being asked to leave and if someone does not want to leave the Sherriff will be called and charges will be filed.
This event is open to all skill levels so these rules will be strictly enforced to insure the safety of all involved.
There will be NO SPECTATORS!!!!! If you are planning on coming with friends, girlfriends, boyfriends or a parent and they want to get onto the property, they must be signed up in advance and they will be put to work as a driver or a course worker. There will be no one allowed on the property that is not on the list.
ANY UNAUTHORIZED PERSONS WILL BE ASKED TO LEAVE THE PROPERTY AND, IF NECESSARY, THEY WILL BE ESCORTED OFF THE PROPERTY BY THE LOCAL SHERRIFF AND CHARGED WITH TRESSAPSSING!
There is a need for about 14 to 20 coarse workers. The course workers will not be paid but will be allowed time on the hill throughout the weekend and after hours.
A crew of 4 or five will be needed for about 4 hours of work on the Friday before to lay out the hay and on the Monday afterwards to clean up the hay. Again helpers will be the only people to ride the hill on those days.
The attendance is limited to insure the riders get the maximum amount of time on the hill (we expect between 10 and 15 runs a day) but still cover the large expense of renting the hill, EMT’s and everything else it takes to put this event on. If you sign up and pay THERE WILL BE NO REFUNDS! You may be offered a credit for a future event.
If you sign up as a volunteer and do not show up you will be blacklisted from all future Maryhill Ratz events. The idea is to keep this event small so the riders can get the most runs they can. Any course workers who sign up and do not show up put the whole event at risk so if you sign up please be serious.
Course workers will be required to sign a waiver and those under 18 will have to have a waiver signed by their parent or guardian.
